The inventor set us our ultimate goal

The population of the world is in hundreds of millions, and all the people have different beliefs about different things. Every person has a right to his/her own beliefs. These beliefs can be said to be rational only when some sound reasoning or philosophy backs them. Else you can say that they are irrational beliefs. I’m very curious to know the reasoning or the philosophy behind the belief that doubts the existence of God, or goes one step further and abandons God! The very basic things that we see everyday have needed an inventor to come up. Even the circular shape called as the wheel wasn’t there until someone invented it. Everything needs to be made or invented by some intelligent force intentionally making it, and needs some specific conditions to be satisfied for it to work properly. You can see it in each and every thing in this world. Take the example of simple things like an electric bulb or a fan, or a little more complex devices like the microchip or a super computer. If the circuit is not completed the bulb won’t give out light, the fan won’t fan. And we can’t simply chip off a piece of metal and call it a microchip, the microchip is complex device and a definite order of things is followed to make it. Try soaking your computer in the bath tub and then turn it on! Will it adapt to the new conditions on its own and work perfectly? Small programming errors or little mistakes cause space shuttles to blast off. Even for stone wheels that our ancestors used, the circular shape had to be maintained for it to work. You stab an animal with a knife; the required conditions for it to work are disrupted so it dies. You do not provide appropriate amounts of fuel, air and spark in an engine and it won't run. If a being is left out in space without space suit and oxygen etc. it won't take even minutes for it to burst due to internal pressure, and die. So, the simplest of devices were born only when invented, and they need definite conditions to work. They didn’t come up on their own, and they don’t work on their own, adapting to the conditions. Then how can this world and the life in it come into existence simply on its own? This world is such a complex system with so many sub-systems working in it perfectly, in a definite order, for millions of years. Everything on this planet earth is so perfect for life to come to birth, or it may be the other way round that the life has been formed so perfectly that it adapts to the conditions on the earth perfectly. There surely must be an inventor who invented this world, and who has a constant check on all the systems and sub-systems. The explanations I’ve heard from people who abandon God, about the creation of this world, like ‘evolution’ or ‘on its own’ or ‘conversion of energy’ do not sound convincing enough. As I drew out before, nothing works ‘on its own’ so it should be ruled out. And evolution, well, evolution is a discovery of man. But who invented it? All the things man has discovered were invented by someone; the creator.  So if there is an inventor who is capable of inventing this mysterious place called as the universe and who can keep a constant check on all the things, who can invent electrons, protons and neutrons, who can invent the super fast ‘Light’ express, His existence surely isn’t in as simple form as of the things around us which we are able to see and feel by touch. His existence must be in a form that is way beyond the imagination of us human beings, a form that is essential to be able to control the whole universe simultaneously, continuously. No wonder we can’t touch Him, see Him or feel Him with touch.

If everything needs an inventor, who created 'the inventor'? I guess this is a question whose answer is known to very few if not none. And I'm not one of those few people. It’s a question whose answer is definitely very complex for human beings to understand. . But there surely must be an answer to that. Probably, just probably, someday mankind will know it.

Why did the creator invent life? To evolve over a period of time, and ultimately be supreme beings capable of doing some high-skill involved jobs that He wants to get done from us? Well, if He has the ability to invent this universe, and invent evolution can he possibly not have the ability to directly invent the supreme beings required to do the high-skill involved job, or rather, the ability to do the job on His own? Why would He wait for several million years for people to evolve, people who find out about his inventions and feel proud to have ‘discovered’ them? It is definitely something else, something that we have learnt to overlook over a period of time, which looks like the most likely purpose for which the creator created us, and other animals. Tell me, what is your ultimate goal in life? I expect different answers: To enjoy whole life worrying about nothing. To work hard and become a person who can support himself and his family. To earn money and become rich. To be famous and respected. To fight for my religion and give up my life for it.  A variety of answers, but all are short-term goals. Answer from an another perspective of looking at it would be - to grow up as an able person, to reproduce, make the kids able persons, those kids in turn make their kids able persons and so on. Or, To make our lives better, safer and longer. But is it not a never ending cycle? What are we heading towards? Have we been sent here to win some race?  After thinking over it I realized that the answer to the question “What is our ultimate goal in life?” is hidden somewhere between all the answers given above. And that is, “To be happy and make others happy”. They are not two different things, but a single two-fold thing. An ideal way to achieve this is – first we must try make ourselves happy without making others unhappy, because we cannot efficiently make others happy if we are not happy. And, in the process, based on our capacity we must try to make others happy.

If the creator didn’t create us to be ‘used’ later on for something, or to get stuck into the cycle of reproduction, obviously he must have created us for something which is the very basic idea underlying our struggle for survival, and that is, to be happy. But if in the process of being happy, living beings start overlooking others feelings, and make others unhappy, there would be total chaos in this world. Total imbalance. Why some intelligent force that created this world would want chaos to be there in the system he created? He obviously wouldn't want such chaos. So he would expect the living beings to be happy, but at the same time take care of others’ happiness, and make others happy. So, we have been sent here to be happy, and at the same time while being happy, we should make others happy. In other words, “being a good human being”. That’s our ultimate goal in life, that’s the purpose for which the inventor invented life. Our success, social position, luxuries we enjoy may have something to do with how happy we are, but the impact would be great only when we forget what is our ultimate goal in life. Burglars, robbers, serial killers, politicians may be very happy robbing others and killing others, but in the process of being happy they are not making others happy, and so they are not fulfilling the purpose for which we have been sent here. We have to make ourselves able to support ourselves in future, to put ourselves in better position, but while doing so we must not forget our ultimate goal. If a football player goes away kicking the football carrying it with his feet in different ways, which is very attractive to look at, but if he forgets where the goal is, he won’t be able to kick the ball into the goal.

The root of all evil

How do we define ‘evil’? We all know what being evil is, and can recognize when we see something evil, but to define it in words, people who put themselves above all others most of the time, in most of the respects can be called as evil. Every action of any evil person can be said to be taking place because he/she puts himself/herself above all others. When a burglar robs a bank he has an idea that his action is going to make several people unhappy, but to him his happiness is more important than other people’s unhappiness, so he does it. A rapist knows that the person whom he is going to rape is going to be very unhappy. But to him, his happiness is above the unhappiness of the person being raped, so he does it. This way it can be seen that in every evil act, the evildoer has put himself/herself above others and so the evil action takes place. But, putting one’s own self above others is what we call as being selfish. So we should understand that being selfish is where being evil begins. They say, “Money is the root of all evil.” But what is money? It’s simply a resource; a resource that can be earned and utilized morally, and also to do a variety of good, noble things like qualitative development of the mankind, providing the underprivileged with the necessities and philanthropy. Money is needlessly denounced by a lot of people. This is clearly a case of wrong element being held guilty.    So, I would rather say, “Selfishness, not money, is the root of all evil.”

The significance and the implications of our ultimate goal

Persons are not marked in completely white or completely black shades. There are gray areas in every person. But it is persons in whom the gray areas dominate who can be said to be evil. The goal is, “To be happy and make others happy”. Usually it’s the people who believe only in the first part of the statement and have nothing whatsoever to do with the second part who are evil persons. So, they just care about their own happiness and won’t hesitate to make others unhappy if that makes them happy. Common people try to achieve the second part while stressing on the first part. They try to be happy and try to make others happy if possible easily.  Its persons like Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa etc. who reach the first part by stressing and believing in the second part. They spend their entire lives making others happy and that makes their own selves happy.

What is the significance of “being happy and making others happy”? What is the importance of being a good human being? Well, first thing obviously if we are happy and others are happy then what else can be better in this world. Since its also our ultimate goal in life, what else can be better than reaching the ultimate goal in life. But other than this, the belief of people into that statement is what responsible for the development of mankind. Yes, I’m not kidding you. Other than the intelligence of man, it’s the belief of man in being a good human being, in being happy and making others happy and the disbelief in the negative things that has developed mankind to the level we see it today and kept animals undeveloped. It’s the belief of human beings into being good human beings what brings up the virtues in them and its all the virtues that are responsible for the development. Whenever the virtues have dominated the negative aspects in persons, development has taken place. Had there not been virtues and positive things like honesty, faith, co-operation, perseverance, trust, love and will to sacrifice, there wouldn’t have been any researches (scientific, social, spiritual etc.), commerce would have never come to birth, without commerce economic development would not have taken place, and there wouldn’t have been further development. Other than the intelligence factor in human beings, it’s the virtues as said above, which have brought us from cavemen to a modern developed society. The negative things like jealousy, selfishness, hatred, etc. may have helped an individual or two gaining more wealth than others, but it has harmed the progress of the mankind by contributing to factors acting as hurdles in the way of researches and commerce. So, when we believe in achieving our ultimate goal, that is, “being happy and making others happy” we not only make our lives good, but also contribute to the progress of the mankind, thus making our lives better and thus making our self and others happier!

Limited peace

Will there ever be total peace in this world? I don’t think so. Not because the idea sounds unrealistic, but because of the fact that there are always going to be some evil people in this world. The views of the evil people will always conflict with those of the good people, because the evil would put themselves ahead of others and the good people would refuse to do so. There will be fights between good and evil. And to me it seems like a never-ending fight. We can strive to maximize the peace in this world though. We can avoid the fights arising due to differences of opinions, which are not differences between good and evil, but fights within good people started by evil people in disguise; by not getting fooled by the evil people; by compromising and by having love and understanding. By uniting our opinions, i.e. understanding that every person is made different, and its perfectly alright to be different as long as its not going on the lines of being evil; and understanding that although different we all belong to the same coven - people wanting to be good. By accepting the fact that there are two sides to every coin, and its not wise to jump onto conclusions and act, looking only at one side. Few simple things really, but we can change the world.
